Take 2
Starting our second growing season

This time last year, we already were hearing spring peepers...tonight they predict 3-6 inches of snow.  We have learned the hard way that upper management (the weather) is in total control and a farmer can never have too much patience.  Good thing we broke the bank on that greenhouse!
The wood furnace is working like a charm and will be turned on in the greenhouse as soon as all the starts that were planted this week germinate.  For  now, they are tucked away in odd corners of the house, in the pantry, baby's room and laundry area.  Hard to keep the cat and little fingers away!
We had a lot of fun with the trusty "farmhands" Meg and Erin as we very quickly had the seeds in the soil.  Amazing what you can get done when you are not alone being crawled on by 3 kids!
New this year is the CSA and there are only 90 some days until the first box - no pressure!  Also new and exciting is the Farm to School greens that we will be custom growing for local Wood County schools to "taste test" - Caleb will get to boast to his friends that he helped grow what they are eating.
Lots of exciting new ideas and projects that are taking shape just as the seeds are; ready to bust out and shoot forth new life!
